Have you ever felt misaligned, as if something inside you is out of sync? Maybe you feel anxious for no reason, struggle to express your feelings, or lack motivation. We often look for answers outside of ourselves, when the key lies within our internal energy system: the chakras.

These energy centers are the map of our inner life. Understanding them is the first step to restoring balance. In this post, we’ll guide you through the 7 main chakras and help you identify if any of them need your attention.

What Exactly Are Chakras?

Imagine seven wheels or vortexes of light spinning along your spine, from its base to the crown of your head. Each of these chakras is an energy center that governs specific aspects of your physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being.

When they all spin in harmony, life force energy (Prana) flows freely, and you feel whole, healthy, and at peace. But if one of them becomes blocked (due to stress, fear, or trauma), the flow is disrupted, and imbalances appear.

Let’s look at them one by one.

A Guide to the 7 Chakras: Listen to What Your Body Is Telling You

1. Root Chakra (Muladhara)

  • Location: At the base of the spine.
  • Governs: Survival, security, stability, and our basic needs (money, home, food). It’s your connection to the Earth.
  • When in balance: You feel safe, grounded, confident in life, and able to meet your needs.
  • Signs of blockage: Anxiety, fears (especially financial), feeling “spacey” or insecure. Physically, it can manifest as lower back, sciatic, or foot problems.

2. Sacral Chakra (Svadhisthana)

  • Location: Below the navel.
  • Governs: Emotions, creativity, sexuality, and the ability to feel pleasure and joy.
  • When in balance: You flow with your emotions, feel creative, passionate, and enjoy a healthy sexuality.
  • Signs of blockage: Emotional instability, creative blocks, guilt, fear of pleasure, or libido issues. Physically, it can relate to lower back problems, kidney issues, or reproductive organs.

3. Solar Plexus Chakra (Manipura)

  • Location: At the stomach area.
  • Governs: Personal power, self-esteem, willpower, and self-control. It is the center of your identity.
  • When in balance: You are self-confident, decisive, set healthy boundaries, and feel in control of your life.
  • Signs of blockage: Low self-esteem, feeling like a victim, being overly controlling or passive. Physically, it can cause digestive problems, ulcers, or abdominal tension.

4. Heart Chakra (Anahata)

  • Location: In the center of the chest.
  • Governs: Love, compassion, forgiveness, and relationships (with others and yourself).
  • When in balance: You can give and receive love unconditionally, you feel empathy, you are compassionate, and you live in a state of gratitude.
  • Signs of blockage: Fear of commitment, jealousy, feeling lonely, difficulty forgiving, emotional dependency. Physically, it can be reflected in heart conditions, blood pressure, or respiratory issues.

5. Throat Chakra (Vishuddha)

  • Location: In the throat.
  • Governs: Communication, self-expression, truth, and authenticity.
  • When in balance: You express yourself clearly and honestly, you are a good listener, and you feel your voice is valid.
  • Signs of blockage: Fear of public speaking, shyness, inability to express your feelings, talking too much, or being unable to keep secrets. Physically, it can cause a sore throat, thyroid problems, or jaw tension.

6. Third Eye Chakra (Ajna)

  • Location: Between the eyebrows.
  • Governs: Intuition, wisdom, imagination, and mental clarity. It’s your connection to your inner guide.
  • When in balance: You trust your intuition, have a clear vision for your life, and learn easily from experiences.
  • Signs of blockage: Mental confusion, lack of direction, nightmares, disconnection from your “inner voice.” Physically, it can manifest as headaches, migraines, or vision problems.

7. Crown Chakra (Sahasrara)

  • Location: At the top of the head.
  • Governs: Spirituality, connection to the Divine, universal consciousness, and life purpose.
  • When in balance: You feel a deep connection to everything around you, live with a sense of purpose, and experience profound inner peace.
  • Signs of blockage: Cynicism, apathy, feeling spiritually disconnected, excessive materialism, or a sense of existential loneliness.

How Can Chakras Be Balanced?

Awareness is the first step. Identifying where the knot is located is a very important part of the healing process. Practices like meditation, yoga, spending time in nature, or using crystals can help.

But sometimes, a blockage is deeper and needs external help to be released. In our work with energy massage and Tantra, we focus precisely on this: sensing where your energy is stagnant and, through conscious touch and intention, helping you dissolve these knots. We facilitate your own system’s return to its natural flow and harmony.

Listening to your chakras is listening to yourself on a deeper level. It is the path back home.

If you have felt a connection with any of these descriptions and wish to explore further, we are here to guide you.
